How the Call is Handled by Grasshopper

Grasshopper gives you three options for when people call your number

  • Calls will be announced when you pick up.

    • This option means that when you see you have a call from/through Grasshopper and answer it it will give you the option to actually answer the call or put it straight through to voicemail

  • Calls will connect to you as soon as you pick up.

    • This option means that when you see you have a call from/through Grasshopper and answer it you will immediately be connected to the person calling you

  • Callers will be asked for their name, then announced to you.

    • This option means that when a person calls you they will be prompted to give/say their name before the call is put through to you, then when you initially answer the call Grasshopper will tell you their name before putting them through so you can answer the call by greeting them with their name

To Choose one of these options follow the instructions below

  • Log into your account

  • Go to “Extensions”

  • Click on “Edit”

  • Click on the “Edit” button in the “Where should we forward calls to?” section

    • See Screenshot below

  • You will see the three options listed with the “Calls will connect to you as soon as you pick up” option chosen by default

  • Click “Save and Close” once you are done

Receive a Fax using Grasshopper

Whenever a fax is sent to any of our Grasshopper numbers [email protected] should receive an email with a PDF containing the fax.

Our dedicated fax line is: (479) 587-9901. We should continue to use this number to receive faxes. Technically, we could receive faxes at our other Grasshopper numbers, but this number is more convenient because it does not present the prompts for the other extensions.

The email address that receives faxes for the dedicated fax line is set in the Enhanced Extensions section of the old user interface. You will need to call Grasshopper if you need to change it.
